First, it is good to note that in certain circumstances Citizenship Income is also due to those who work. The important thing is that despite the income derived from work, the family unit is below the income thresholds established by law.

Both the ISEE indicator and family income, therefore, should be lower than expected; only in these circumstances the family unit where there are people who work can perceive the RoC.

This allows a case-by-case assessment: there are people who work but receive a very low salary and, therefore, insufficient to support the entire family. Therefore, especially in large families, it is not excluded that even those who work may be beneficiaries of the Citizenship Income.

For the same reason, it is not excluded that those who find work during the month of suspension continue to have the right to the Citizenship Income.

If they still meet the financial requirements, they can make the new application. However, since it is assumed that with the start of work the family income has increased, the amount of the benefit must be less than what was paid in the previous eighteen months.

Citizenship Income Renewal: what those who find work should do during the month of suspension

While those who find work during the period of use of the Citizenship Income must communicate it – within 30 days of the event – presenting the model SR181When the work activity begins during the month of suspension there is a different procedure to follow.

In particular, the same indications must be followed for those who, when applying for the RdC, have a member who has started a work activity that is not registered with the ISEE.

In detail, this happens when:

• the ESD appeared between January 1 and August 31, 2020 and work activities began (as wage earners but also as self-employed) in the period after the January 1, 2018;

• the ESD appeared between September 1 and December 31, 2020 and work activities began in the period after the January 1, 2019.

Considering that in the case of those who request renewal in October, the ISEE was issued in the first months of the year (otherwise the payment would have been blocked), this procedure must be followed for all work activities. released after January 1, 2018.

In detail, when submitting the new application they must indicate part E, also attaching the model SR182 that communicates what the new work activity perceives.

The joint evaluation of the modules ISEE and SR180 (RoC application) and SR182 will show if the household is still in a position to receive RoC.
