Note 15404 of September 4 of the USSR for Veneto. Report no. 58/2020 of the ISS “Operational indications for the management of cases and outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 in schools and children’s educational services”. Operational support of the Department of Prevention, Food Safety and Veterinary of the Veneto Region
The USSR transmits note no. 345038 of September 2 of the Directorate of Prevention, Food Safety and Veterinary of the Veneto Region. The note underlines the importance of timely and effective communication between the Prevention Departments of the Veneto Local Health Units and schools and educational services for children.
Of particular importance for educational institutions are the rules for school readmission of children, pupils and students established in the note in question for confirmed cases of COVID-19, for cases with suspected symptoms not confirmed by the rhino-pharyngeal swab and, finally , for cases of absences for health reasons not suspected of COVID-19.
In particular, the note explains that “the search for contacts and the consequent quarantine provisions will start from the confirmation of the case (rhino-pharyngeal swab positive for COVID-19) ” is that “The Prevention Department will evaluate the most appropriate strategy regarding the possible screening of school personnel and students, taking into account the specific situation and the preventive measures adopted by the service in which the case occurred“.
