LECCE – Slight increase in the rate between registered positives and swabs processed in Puglia in the last 24 hours: 26.2 percent of the tests performed were positive for Covid-19, that is, 1,001 infections out of 3,821 swabs , more than 3,400 less than in those of the last weekend that were 7,293.
The cases of positivity registered in the province of Lecce are also decreasing, today 85 compared to 220 yesterday and with one death among the 24 total (eight in the province of Bari, one in the province of Brindisi, two in the province of Bat, seven in the province of Foggia, five in the province of Taranto and one as mentioned in the Lecce area). In the last hours, exactly 3,472 fewer tests have been carried out than those of Thursday.
The president of the Region, Michele Emiliano, based on information from the director of the health promotion department, Vito Montanaro, announced that today 3,821 tests for covid-19 infection have been registered and exactly 1,001 positive cases have been registered, with a rate of 26.2, almost two points higher than the percentage registered yesterday, which stood at 24.5 percent. These latest data have raised the number of current infected subjects in Puglia to the threshold of 46,578 units.

The number of people cured in the region is 17,028 according to the data reported by the bulletin today, 233 more than yesterday. Currently active cases date back to 46,578 throughout Puglia. There are 44,773 people in home isolation, more than 96 percent of those infected. Since the beginning of the emergency, a total of 843,494 tests have been carried out to know if the coronavirus is positive or not. Hospitalized patients in dedicated wards are currently 1,805 (about 4 percent), eleven less than yesterday’s figure. Of these, there are now 197 hospitalized in intensive care.
The total number of positive cases in Apulia confirmed since the beginning of the emergency phase, and updated with data from the last two days, is expected to be 65,342 as follows: 25,446 in the province of Bari; 7,298 in the province of Bat; 4,706 in the province of Brindisi; 14,840 in the province of Foggia; 4,971 in the province of Lecce; 7,653 in the province of Taranto. There are 409 cases attributed to residents outside the region. The total of deaths amounts to 1,736.
