Today there are 1,823 new positive cases of coronavirus (1,515 identified in the course of screening and 308 of detection activities) out of a total of 35,284 cases registered since the beginning of the epidemic.

New cases are 5.4% more than the total of the previous day. The average age of 1,823 cases today is approximately 44 years (16% are under 20, 27% between 20 and 39, 34% between 40 and 59, 17% between 60 and 79, 6% have 80 years or older).

Those cured grew by 1.1% and reached 12,954 (36.7% of all cases). The swabs performed reached 1,027,459, 13,502 more than yesterday.

8,439 subjects evaluated (excluding control swabs), of which 21.6% were positive. To these are added the 1,399 rapid antigenic swabs that are carried out today.

Coronavirus: reduced bus capacity

The current positives are 21,040 today, + 8.6% compared to yesterday. There are 923 hospitalized (34 more than yesterday), of which 119 in intensive care (9 more).

Today there are 15 new deaths: 6 men and 9 women with an average age of 83.9 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 1 in Florence, 2 in Prato, 2 in Pistoia, 1 in Massa Carrara, 5 in Pisa, 3 in Livorno, 1 in Arezzo.

These are the data – verified today at 12 o’clock based on requests from the National Civil Protection – regarding the advance of the epidemic in the region.

It should be remembered that as of June 24, 2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated by province of notification, but by province of residence or domicile.

Data by province

The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 10,478 cases in total to date in Florence (617 more than yesterday), 2,617 in Prato (205 more), 2,600 in Pistoia (147 more), 2,395 in Massa (47 more), 3,693 in Lucca (110 more), 4,564 in Pisa (183 more).

In addition: 2,367 in Livorno (204 more), 3,275 in Arezzo (223 more), 1,667 in Siena (47 more), 1,078 in Grosseto (40 more). There are 550 positive cases reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. Therefore, there are 969 cases found today in the ASL Center, 544 in the Northwest, 310 in the Southeast.

Tuscany ranks ninth in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 946 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 899 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure).

The provinces with the highest notification rate are Massa Carrara with 1,229 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 1,089, Florence with 1,036, and the lowest Grosseto with 486.

Hospitalizations, isolations, cures

In total, 20,117 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (1,630 more than yesterday, 8.8% more).

There are 24,199 (1,605 more than yesterday, plus 7.1%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance, for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 9,775, Northwest 8,537, Southeast 5,887).

The people admitted to beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 923 (34 more than yesterday, plus 3.8%), 119 in intensive care (9 more than yesterday, plus 8.2%).

In total, there are 12,954 people cured (144 more than yesterday, plus 1.1%): 549 clinically cured people (32 more than yesterday, plus 6.2%), that is, they were asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with infection and 12,405 (112 more than yesterday, plus 0.9%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.

The deaths

1,290 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 468 in Florence, 62 in Prato, 91 in Pistoia, 191 in Massa Carrara, 153 in Lucca, 113 in Pisa, 76 in Livorno, 61 in Arezzo, 35 in Siena , 26 in Grosseto, 14 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 34.6 x 100,000 residents versus 62.1 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region).
