517 new positive coronaviruses registered in the last twenty-four hours in Tuscany, 138 in the province of Florence. After many days of constant increase, these numbers are slightly decreasing compared to yesterday, when in our region the new positives were 548. The number of pealtro swabs today was higher (11,394) than yesterday (11,237), although small. The data recorded by today’s medical bulletin, issued by the Tuscany Region, is detailed below.

In Tuscany there are 18,160 cases of coronavirus positivity, 517 more than yesterday (350 identified in the course of screening and 167 from detection activities). New cases are 2.9% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew 0.1% and reached 10,844 (59.7% of all cases). The swabs performed reached 839,508, 11,394 more than yesterday. 8,150 subjects evaluated (excluding control swabs), of which 6.3% were positive. The current positives are 6,142 today, + 8.9% compared to yesterday. There are 217 hospitalized (27 more than yesterday), of which 31 in intensive care (1 more). Unfortunately, today there is 1 new death: a 76-year-old woman.

These are the data – verified today at 12 o’clock based on requests from the National Civil Protection – regarding the advance of the epidemic in the region.

The average age of 517 cases today is about 44 years (16% are under 20, 30% between 20 and 39, 30% between 40 and 59, 15% between 60 and 79, 9% are 80 years or older).

It should be remembered that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health changed the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.

The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change compared to yesterday: There are 5,136 total cases to date in Florence (138 more than yesterday), 1,224 in Prato (47 more), 1,250 in Pistoia (47 more), 1,641 in Massa (16 more), 2,194 in Lucca (53 more), 2,218 in Pisa (82 more), 915 in Livorno (23 more), 1,540 in Arezzo (78 more), 815 in Siena (24 more), 677 in Grosseto (9 more). There are 550 positive cases reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.

Therefore, there are 232 cases found today in the ASL Center, 174 in the Northwest, 111 in the Southeast.

Tuscany is confirmed in tenth place in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 487 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 579 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Massa Carrara with 842 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Lucca with 566, Pisa with 529, Livorno the lowest with 273.

In total, 5,925 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (475 more than yesterday, 8.7% more).

There are 12,891 (457 more than yesterday, plus 3.7%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (ASL Center 4,513, Northwest 5,295, Southeast 3,083).

There are currently 217 people admitted to beds dedicated to COVID patients (27 more than yesterday, plus 14.2%), 31 in intensive care (1 more than yesterday, plus 3.3%).

In total there are 10,844 people cured (14 more than yesterday, more 0.1%): 368 clinically cured people (2 less than yesterday, less 0.5%), that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 10,476 ( 16 more than yesterday, plus 0.2%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.

Unfortunately, today there is 1 new death: a 76-year-old woman living in the province of Grosseto.

1,174 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 423 in Florence, 54 in Prato, 84 in Pistoia, 181 in Massa Carrara, 149 in Lucca, 97 in Pisa, 65 in Livorno, 53 in Arezzo, 33 in Siena , 26 in Grosseto, 9 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 31.5 x 100,000 residents versus 59.9 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region).
