“Students in class once a week? I’d say at least one for each class level. The children can’t take it anymore and we with them ”.

Thus Daniela Galletta from Dire agency, professor at the Copernico-Pasolì Institute in Verona, comments on the proposal of the developmental age psychotherapist and director of Ido Federico Bianchi de Castelbianco who in recent days sent an appeal to the world of institutions: ” School is a safe place, it is not an outbreak, asking for one day a week in high school allows children not to lose contact with the school institution, which is not only learning but also the possibility of sharing, the damage that students are suffering. children is strong and we will carry it with us for a long time ”.

Galletta is also coordinator of the School and Territory network: Educate together, which groups 55 institutes in the province of Verona, of which approximately half are seniors: “Every day I compare myself with my classmates and my students. We see them in difficulty, more and more. Loneliness saddens them, they absolutely need contact and relationship and in fact they ask us for it. We try to instill in them a bit of optimism with innovative teaching strategies and some afternoon connection in small groups, precisely to give them back some of the sociability that they lack, but it is no longer enough. For our part, we await a clear signal before Christmas. After all, the ministry was also clear: school is a priority. Therefore, such a proposal can only find the consent of all teachers and I think also of parents. Parents who I hope will make their voices heard a little more. Not everything is going well. The adolescent needs interaction and contact ”, concludes Galletta.
Let’s not forget “the high school students who cried when they left us at the end of the exams -remembers the teacher- It was hard for them and even more so for the students this year, who fell back in prison after two months.” to return to a daily life a little more similar to normality ”.

Milan, the directors say yes

“Students in school once a week? Maybe. Children need to physically come to institutions. Education is not just about learning and programs to play. There are also other needs, like being together ”. This is the comment of the director of the European School Milan, Roberta Ginese, at the proposal of the developmental age psychotherapist Federico Bianchi di Castelbianco.

“Even children who are currently teaching in person feel the emptiness in school left by those who are not,” Ginese continues. This situation is a significant loss from the psychological and social point of view, much more than from the didactic point of view. In fact, last year the programs were carried out excellently. But humanly, the students have lost everything. That is why I say yes to the proposal ”.

“My call is for the minister and for all institutions, the school is a safe place, it is not an outbreak, asking for one day a week in high school allows children not to lose contact with the school institution that is not only learning but an opportunity to share, the damage that the boys are suffering is strong and we will carry it with us for a long time. ”With these words Federico Bianchi di Castelbianco, a developmental-age psychotherapist and director of the Institute of Orthophonology (IdO), had launched an appeal to policy makers for secondary school students to return to class once a week.

“With dad we lose an important part, which is sociability. The school, in fact, is made up of a fabric of relationships. Relationships that are missing right now for everyone: students, teachers, staff. And there is no other way to recover them – says Chiara Arena, director of the Cartesio Institute of Cinisello Balsamo – That said, therefore, I would be in favor of Castelbianco’s proposal. But is the transportation system capable of supporting this solution? I think that, if we really want to put into practice what is requested, it would be necessary to increase public transport ”.
