ROME – The Covid-19 pandemic does not even spare the automotive parts sector. After the negative effects on vehicle sales caused by the forced closure and the risks associated with the danger of contagion inside the cabin, the focus shifts to the packaging of automotive components since in various parts of China different samples of Auto parts labels tested positive for coronavirus. The alarm went off after the report of a company dedicated to the sale of automotive accessories that reported a case of Covid-19. According to the local Covid-19 prevention and control office, in Jincheng, Shanxi province, a city in northern China, the local disease control and prevention center has detected the virus in a car tire packaging. The emergency measures provided for in the security protocols were immediately activated and the personnel who came into close contact with the merchandise were quarantined. Fortunately, all the people subjected to subsequent tests were negative, but as a precaution, the affected goods were sealed. And again, according to reports from local authorities, three other positive samples taken from auto parts packaging were identified in Cangzhou city in Hebei province, and in Yantai and Linyi in Shandong province. In addition, nucleic acid tests were carried out on auto parts and related personnel in various cities in China after an employee of a Beijing company dedicated to the sale of auto parts was diagnosed with Covid-19.
