COSENZA – New coronavirus infections continue to fall compared to yesterday with a slight increase in tampons (slightly more than 500 more than Saturday), the number of victims remains high with another 6 deaths in the last 24 hours, while the number of number of hospitalizations in infectious disease wards. That’s +150 new positives registered in our region (yesterday they had been +175) compared to a growing number of swabs analyzed: 1,546 were tried (yesterday it was 1,063) which brings the total number of tests to 445,178. With today’s increase in our Region, including the victims and the healed, the total number of cases amounts to 24,590. The highest increase in infections is recorded in the province of Reggio Calabria with +67 cases and struggling with several outbreaks, one of these blew up in an RSA in Bovalino which has more than twenty positive aspects: 20 older guests, three Oss and also the owner of the structure. In the entire municipality of Reggio there are around 70 confirmed infections: «the infection situation in Bovalino is worrying. – writes Mayor Maesano – We have lived through weeks of stagnation in which infections have stopped, also and above all, thanks to the enormous efforts that we have all made together to contain them. Unfortunately, now the situation has changed and we are registering a new increase in cases. In the province of Catanzaro today there are +33 positive, +29 in contrast to Vibo Valentia and +21 in Cosenza (yesterday they were +18). Today no contagion has been found in the Crotone area.
Another 6 victims, hospitalizations grow again
When analyzing the data and figures on the contagion in Calabria, including residents and people from outside the region, the number of people currently positive for the virus decreases: a total of 8,657 people are infected right now, 159 fewer than yesterday. This is due to the fact that the data on those recovered is growing more than the new confirmed cases: there are 303 more since yesterday that makes the total number of people who have defeated the disease 15,445. Casualties increased to 488 in total. with another six deaths in the last 24 hours: three in Reggio Calabria, two in Cosenza and one in Crotone. The number of hospitalizations in covid wards increases again, while the number in intensive care units remains stable. To date, there are 261 people in Calabrian hospitals total, 242 in infectious disease wards (+8) and 19 in intensive care (+0). Finally the number of people in home isolation dropped to 8,396167 less than yesterday. Of these, 155 are people residing in other Regions or Foreign States. Since the last survey, 168 people have registered on the Calabria Region portal to communicate their presence in the regional territory.
