SITUATION. What we are witnessing these days in most of Italy is a coming and going of disturbances, due to the formation of a vast low-pressure channel that runs from the North Atlantic to the central Mediterranean. A disturbance is affecting our peninsula on the day of Monday and following it, a new one will arrive in the northwestern regions already at night, spreading east to much of Italy on Tuesday. Here are the details:

IMMACULATE CLIMATE. The new Atlantic disturbance will lead to a resumption of bad weather with phenomena also abundant in the Center-North and a new contribution from rainfall to areas already heavily affected by the floods of the weekend that just ended. In addition to the rains, they are also expected snowfall at low altitudes, to the plains of lower Piedmont, from 300 / 500m in the rest of the Northwest, to 700 / 900m in the rest of the Alps, but with scales at times to the bottom of the dolomitic valley, with phenomena that will attenuate at dusk in northwest. Rain that will persist during the day, especially near the central-eastern Alps, with possible storms. Showers and thunderstorms in Sardinia, bad weather in central regions with heavy rains and downpours in Tuscany and Lazio, extending during the day to Campania and Upper Calabria. Variability in the rest of the south with some rains reaching Sicily and Salento during the day. Dry on Molise and the rest of Puglia with partial glitter spells. Strong winds between southwest and southeast with rough seas and storm tides on exposed coasts. High water in the Venetian Lagoon with a peak of 120 cm in the afternoon. Increased temperatures in the south. For all the details go to the section Time in Italy.
