Paul Dybala was the protagonist of the first appointment of the season of Junior Reporter, the event organized by Juventus, which allows Junior Black & White members to interview the Juventus champions.
The bianconera Joya responded to the many questions, between anecdotes related to his past and dreams for the future.
Hello Paulo, today everyone knows you as “El Joya”, in Palermo you were “U Picciriddu”, while as a child “El Petrino”. Which of these nicknames do you like the most?
I don’t remember the story of “El Petrino” because I was very young, but I think the one I like the most is “U Picciriddu” because in Palermo everyone called me that and people treated me in an incredible way. It was the first year I came to Italy, it was not easy for me, there have been many changes. I have to thank the people of Palermo for receiving me like this.
What is the meaning of the Dybala mask?
I am a fan of gladiators and many times I saw how in times of difficulty these gladiators put on the mask and thus I associated it a little with my football matches. Many times we find ourselves in difficult moments, even if it is what we love, we also go through difficult moments and that’s why I thought about celebrating each goal with this mask. I like the message that I can send to people, not just those who play soccer..
What was your greatest emotion with Juve and what will be the next goal?
Luckily I have had many beautiful moments at Juventus. My first experience was a final won by scoring a goal. We have won many trophies together so it is difficult to find one. I think that arriving at Juve was a unique emotion for me, wearing this shirt for the first time, having the first press conference as a Juve player. I hope there will be a lot of goals, the most important being the next final that we play in January against Napoli.
What was your idol as a child?
My idol child was Ronaldinho. I loved how he had fun on the field, his joy in playing and what he conveyed beyond the plays. What he knew how to demonstrate in the field with great simplicity.
What is the biggest dream you want to achieve as a footballer?
There are two dreams that I have. One is to be able to win the Champions League, obviously with Juventus, and the other is to be able to win a World Cup with Argentina.
How important is it to wear jersey number 10 at Juve?
It is very important, there is a lot of responsibility. There is a lot of work, but I am proud to be able to do it. The day Juve asked me to wear this number, which is so important to the history of this club, it was not easy to decide because obviously I knew everything that number was wearing. But what I always say is that beyond the number, the emblem in front of it is more important and more difficult to wear because more and more are being asked of us and we must always be ready to do it for this team.
What excitement do you feel when you score at Allianz Stadium?
It is a unique emotion, very beautiful, it is an incredible feeling of satisfaction. We work hard to achieve that result, so we can win and celebrate with you. In the end, what we attackers want to do is score, so we are there with our heads thinking about how we will celebrate, how we will rejoice. Sometimes it is difficult to find a word to describe the current moment because there are many emotions together and they are pure joy.
