THE HISTORY
It happened to Romolo Onor secondary school in San Donà di Piave, in the province of Venice, at the end of November. Now the girl’s mother has decided to make the fact public, not only considering the suspension but a whole series of rules imposed by the school on the students: “You can no longer be silent about these things.” The woman entrusted the attorney Thomas Cesaro of Verona to challenge the provision.
The incident occurred on November 26. «My daughter is a spontaneous and affectionate girl: leaving school had the instinct to hug a partner, who started screaming. My daughter at first thought I had hurt her: she was actually screaming precisely about the Covid-19 problem. A teacher took her to the presidency. Two days later they called me at school: they handed me a paper saying that it had been decided to suspend my daughter because she had not respected the Covid-19 rules. I was thinking of a joke. I was shouting everything, announcing that my daughter would never set foot in that school again.
The answer sheet also refers to other episodes: non-use of the mask and distances not respected. “Since the school year began, I have practically always been in the presidency and my daughter is a rebel like me: she knows the truth and counts. Lower the mask from time to time to breathe; She responds to the professors while they give lessons on Covid-19 and that is why they call her back to the presidency, because she wants to speak her truth. In the presidency they keep telling me that protocols are more important than everything. But they are not my rules and I will never accept them because they are unfair. The director, Marisa Dariol, recalling that the episodes have been several, said: «I never wanted to reach this disposition; it is an unfortunate thing. But I only think about the protection of the students and therefore the girl herself. We continue to wait for her at school: her mother’s decision not to take her to class again is not a good one.
