Based on the available forecasts, the Ministry of Civil Protection in accordance with the regions involved – which are in charge of activating the civil protection systems in the affected territories – has issued a new warning of adverse weather conditions, which expands and integrates generalized ones. in the days before. From this afternoon, Saturday, August 29, the warning foresees the persistence of scattered to diffuse rains, predominantly downpours or storms, in Piedmont, Liguria, Lombardy, Autonomous Province of Trento, Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany. Rainfall will be frequent and abundant in all the Alpine, Pre-Alpine, East-Central Liguria and Upper Tuscany sectors. Scattered rains, predominantly downpours or thunderstorms, are also expected from early morning Sunday, August 30, over Umbria and Lazio, extending to the Marches, and strong to stormy winds from the southern quadrants over Emilia-Romagna and Las Brands. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, local hailstorms and strong gusts of wind.

Based on the expected and ongoing phenomena, a red alert for hydrogeological risk was evaluated in the northern sector of Lombardy for today, Saturday, August 29, and tomorrow, Sunday, August 30. For tomorrow, the orange alert was evaluated in the rest of the territory of Lombardy, in the autonomous province of Trento, in the autonomous province of Bolzano, in northern Veneto, in most of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the eastern sectors and central Liguria, in the north of Tuscany.
