(ANSA) – LONDON, DECEMBER 13 – Anthony Joshua, an Englishman of Nigerian origin and a former world heavyweight champion, defeated Bulgarian Kubrat Venkov Pulev, former European, intercontinental and international champion, confirming his titles. The challenge, which ended by knockout in the ninth round, paves the way for an unprecedented fight with Tyson Fury expected to take place in 2021. By defeating Pulev, 39, Joshua has kept his world heavyweight belts. (IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO) and paved the way for a title reunification battle against fellow WBC champion Tyson Fury. The clash between ‘AJ’ and the ‘King of the Gypsies’, undefeated in 31 fights, excites England and the world of boxing, although the organization of the fight promises to be problematic from a financial and regulatory point of view.
