Infections are constantly increasing and, for the first time, more than 600 in Puglia, to be exact. 631, compared to 5,339 Covid-19 positivity test for coronavirus. Yesterday’s result, also quite alarming, was 590 new infections compared to 5,253 swabs. This is the figure from the epidemiological bulletin issued today by the Department of Health Promotion. In detail, the new cases are distributed as follows: 284 in the province of Bari, 32 in the province of Brindisi, 101 in the province of BAT, 123 in the province of Foggia, 36 in the province of Lecce, 60 in the province of Taranto, 6 attributed to residents outside the region (11 cases of unknown residence were reclassified and attributed). The situation in the Bari area is worrying and is increasing rapidly. In detail, 92.2% are treated at home; 7.1% in hospital, 0.7% (percentage increase) in intensive care. 66.7% of the cases under treatment are asymptomatic, 24% are paucisymptomatic, and 6.9% have mild symptoms (here the complete bulletin).
In addition to this, 10 deaths were recorded: 6 in the province of Bari, 1 in the province of Brindisi, 2 in Foggia, 1 in the province of Taranto.
518,574 tests have been carried out since the start of the emergency. 5977 are recovered patients. 7398 are currently positive cases. The total of positive cases of Covid in Puglia is 14031, divided as follows: 5879 in the province of Bari; 1372 in the province of Bat; 1017 in the province of Brindisi; 3342 in the province of Foggia; 1048 in the province of Lecce; 1272 in the province of Taranto; 101 attributed to residents outside the region.
The APL prevention departments have activated all the procedures for the acquisition of anamnestic and epidemiological information, with the aim of tracing close contacts.
THE LOPALCO ALARM
Statement from the Councilor for Health Policies, Pier Luigi Lopalco: “The daily number of infections in a slight and continuous increase is consequently accompanied by pressure on the Regional Health Service, both in local services and in the hospital system. Everyone’s effort to stop the growth of infections is important. In the coming weeks we must reduce our social contacts to the minimum necessary ”.

REQUEST TO RETURN TO THE RETIRED DOCTORS ROOM
The Health Department of the Puglia Region withdraws, on a voluntary basis, retired doctors. Next Monday, director Vito Montanaro confirms to Ansa, a notice will be published to compile a ranking from which all ASL will be able to draw to face the Coronavirus emergency. Depending on the specialties of the doctors who decide to return to the ward, places will be assigned in hospitals and wards.
In addition, the Apulian healthcare companies will also be able to turn to unqualified young doctors who, as happened in March, will be able to stand next to the “no Covid” wards. ASL Bari has already published an advisory so that young doctors and other healthcare companies can take advantage of the ranking.
THE FIRST BANDS
The Asl of Bari, in the face of the Coronavirus emergency and the need to strengthen hospital staff, is looking for new doctors. For this reason, it has posted on the Puglia region website 15 different public qualification notices that aim to recruit medical managers to whom to confer fixed-term positions of three years. The required specialties are: resuscitation, epidemiology, infectious diseases, orthopedics, cardiology, general surgery, gastroenterology, admission and emergency medicine and surgery, nephrology, otorhinolaryngology, pediatrics, radiodiagnosis and urology.
