11/12/2020 – Today a terrible murder-suicide took place in Novilara. A man killed his wife and then threw himself off the city walls.
The drama it was consumed late in the morning in Novilara. The 44-year-old man of Moroccan origin, convicted, recently released from prison, killed his wife while their two daughters aged 7 and 13 were at school.
At that moment he left the house and threw himself from the walls of Novilara, but he did not die. Transported to the hospital, he died shortly after.
When the military arrived at the apartment to inform his wife of the suicide, they found her lifeless on the ground. In the house there was a large dog that they took away, meanwhile they managed to intercept the two girls who were returning from school and were entrusted to social services.
Once inside, the carabinieri found that the 41-year-old woman of Sardinian origin had been killed by several cuts to her throat.
It was not the first time that the man attacked his wife, he had ended up in jail for beating his wife.
