The investigation of the man was triggered thanks to the monitoring of the website carried out by the National Center for the Fight Against Child Pornography Online as part of the fight against the exploitation of minors on the Internet. In recent months, agents found a video posted live on a free online streaming platform, in which a man abused a girl under one year old. The multimedia content “freeze” and investigations that led investigators to conduct a true digital “stalking” of the suspect began immediately.
Investigators explain that the girl was raped by the maternal grandfather to whom the girl was entrusted when the mother was away. The Public Ministry of Milan, “given the extreme gravity of the events, the univocal elements of guilt collected and the actuality of the danger of recurrence of the crime,” requested and obtained from the investigating judge the issuance of a disposition of preventive detention in prison.
