Soccer has finally understood that protocol may be undermined by an ASL’s decision. It is a historic day: football has recognized the rule of law.
At the end of today’s meeting with Sport Minister Vincenzo Spadafora, FIGC President Gabriele Gravina commented on the Juventus-Napoli issue, now almost a matter of state.
“We hope that the ASL of Naples will be an exception but we cannot know what the future conditions of our country will be.. If the protocol is fully respected by all, we can be sure that the soccer championship can be played in safe conditions ”.
From Gravina’s words it can be deduced that football has finally understood that the protocol may be undermined by the decision of an ASL. It is a historic day: football recognized the rule of law.
On the meeting with Spadafora:
“The Minister’s visit was important, I greatly appreciated his gesture: the meeting was an opportunity for a series of reflections, I was inspired by various topics treated in terms of general concern related to the championship. With our determination We believe that we must advance to close this championship as well as possible., knowing that we must be responsible and forward-looking to address certain critical issues. We firmly believe in this protocol, we believe that it is clear and that it still requires a great sense of responsibility on the part of everyone, even those who really have to review the entire territory on a case-by-case basis. We are particularly satisfied, we have dealt with topics that are very dear to us: it is an element of great confrontation and discussion ”.
On the hypothesis of 3-0 at the Napoli table:
“We have a Sports Judge and a Federal Prosecutor. In these hours I listen to communications, messages … I try to be serious, I respect the roles and I hope that others do the same. The competent bodies will check everything. I think our protocol is clear: it worked in times of great criticality and I don’t see why it shouldn’t go well now. There are cases similar to Napoli, everyone knows what happened, we have to live with this epidemic. Anyone who tells us that we are irresponsible is saying incredible nonsense: no one like us holds that protecting health is a primary good and we want to achieve balance“.
Gravina was asked if she had any news of De Laurentiis.
“No, there is no reason to listen to it.”
Sky reports another statement: “Whoever made a mistake will pay.”
