However, the elderly are even more alone,” says the Yolanda’s family, returning to this experience. «In our case, our GP was very professional: Dr. Rosa Giorgio called every day, she came to get swabs. For her, in particular, there was great concern, given her age. But Iolanda’s strong temperament and proper care allowed her to pass this test as well. And for those who have a life that spans almost a century, it is one more proof: «It has gone through wars, influences, pandemics. It is true that the elderly have less reactivity to disease, but it was not taken for granted.
Among so many sad stories, this is a positive message within this health emergency. “A big thank you to the GP and all professionals like her.”
