The government accelerates the vaccination plan and, as announced by the general emergency commissioner Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, “in the next 24 hours around one million doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be distributed to the Regions, affecting 214 health establishments”. The communication comes at the end of the working meeting with the Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, together with the head of Civil Protection, Fabrizio Curcio. At the center of the meeting, according to what was learned, the issues of procurement and the management of the vaccination campaign in the Regions. Draghi also held a meeting in the afternoon with the Minister of Regional Affairs, Mariastella Gelmini, and a preliminary point was raised on the solutions that will contribute to strengthening collaboration and coordination with the Regions committed to timely implementation of the new vaccination plan. Not only that, the emergency commissioner also announced the government’s roadmap on the vaccination front, underlining that “at the end of the first quarter there will be more than 14 million vaccines distributed to the Regions. In particular, the total for March will be approximately 7.5 million doses, while the accumulated partial doses for January and February amounted to 6.5 million.
