He fed entire generations of Forlì people before handing over the management to his children. However, he never left his second home and continued helping until the last day. The well-known Forlì restorer passed away on Tuesday night at his home in Massa di Vecchiazzano Giovanni dotti. Born in Villa Rovere in 1935, he inaugurated the Panoramic nn 1965 on the Massa hill, a few kilometers from Forlì, on the occasion of a Tendicollo, the famous cycling race whose route passed through the Via del Tesoro.

The idea of ​​Giovanni and his father Alfredo was to open a small place to serve piadina and salami. Given the initial success, after the competition, Dotti decided to expand the menu and start a real catering business. Initially the restaurant was made up of just two rooms, then over time it has expanded to its present large size. In 2006 the children Roberto, Milena and Manuela assumed the management of the restaurant. However, Giovanni never left his Panoramico and continued to help out until the last day.

Thus Roberto Dotti remembers his father Giovanni: “My father was a shy person who never wanted to expose himself. I think that in this sad moment it is fair to remember him so that he can have recognition in his life, a life dedicated to work and family. He was a great life teacher for all of us. What comforts us is that his hope was to go as he did, within the walls of his house, after a family dinner. “

“If the funeral is going to be held on Friday – Roberto Dotti specifies -, the brothers have decided together to reopen on Saturday. Life goes on and we will also have to go back to work to first overcome the pain of this immense loss. And then in our hearts we are sure that our father would have wanted it that way ”. Giovanni leaves behind his wife Carla and four children (in addition to Roberto Morena, Milena and Manuela).
