SEDAN – Germany has launched its huge machine for organizing the vaccination plan. You are rapidly building old malls, old airports, stadiums, trade shows, concert halls, and even churches. And he is frantically looking for volunteers from retired doctors, trainees, nurses, associates, even veterinarians and dentists. Merkel’s government, according to the governors, has decided that the country should be ready by mid-December to start mass injections, that is, as soon as one of the three drugs currently down the stretch receives authorization. And the preparations are well under way.

“We want to be prepared,” explained the Minister of Health, Jens spahn. The conservative politician added that “there is a way out” to the pandemic, and that “we are on the right track.” The ministry is preparing in great detail the operation of the centers and the vaccination procedures. According to a document anticipated by image, there will be 60 drug storage centers, hundreds of vaccination centers. And the campaigns will be developed in three phases, depending on the availability of the drug, which will be administered strictly by reservation and following a certain hierarchy.

The first to be vaccinated will be the elderly and citizens of the risk categories – 40% of the total according to Spahn’s calculations – then medical personnel, the police and teachers. Later it will be the turn of the rest of the population. Patients in nursing homes or old people’s homes, but also migrants in reception centers or the homeless will be vaccinated on site by mobile units and by “Impf-Busse”, by ad hoc buses.

In the centers, the path will be strictly prescribed. At the beginning of the ‘vaccination’, the temperature will be measured, and those with symptoms will be excluded. Then it will be a “one-way system” to guide your way, from check-in to check-out. The vaccination should not last more than 15 minutes. The estimate is that each doctor will be able to vaccinate up to 96 people per day. After the puncture, the patient will obviously remain under observation until the review. In recent weeks, the hypothesis of an application to monitor the consequences of the drug had also emerged.

Local governments are defining the exact locations of the bites. They must be easily accessible and protected. And they will have to contain shielded and heated waiting rooms. The lands are being chosen, but the principle is that each municipality or district will have to prepare at least one.

Some cities have already announced many details: in Berlin there will be six centers, each with fifteen stations, and the goal will be to vaccinate up to 20 thousand citizens a day. The choice fell on an ice skating stadium, the fair, the velodrome, the Berlin Arena and the two former airports of Tegel and Tempelhof. The Councilor for Health, Dilek Kalayci (Spd) specified that “they are preparing us to leave in December.” Now only the vaccine is missing.
