Eight healthcare workers from a nursing home in Germany have mistakenly received five doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, without serious consequences for their health at this stage. The seven women and one man, aged between 38 and 54, work in a nursing home in Stralsund, in the northeast of the country. As such, they are among the priority people to receive the BioNTech-Pfizer vaccine, administered in Germany since Saturday. But during the vaccination session on Sunday, five doses were injected at the same time, explained the administrator of the health district where the institution is located, Stefan Kerth. They were immediately notified of the error, he said.
Four were admitted to the hospital for observation with mild flu-like symptoms, the other four returned home. “I deeply regret this incident,” said the administrator who guaranteed that they were isolated cases.
