Genoa – It all started in the historic center and it is in this area, mainly due to its socio-urban characteristics, where the contagion continues to spread furiously, with penetration well above the alarm threshold. And while something similar happens in Sampierdarena, another area where the second wave arrived first and with great intensity, the constant monitoring of ASL 3 gives more to think and new indications: within a short month -from September 21 to October 18 : Covid has literally made its way in 33 portions of Genoa and even in the province. Also involve less frequent neighborhoods in the news, such as Albaro, where the territory marked by cap 16145 (the postal code is the conventional criterion used for monitoring by health authorities), rose rapidly in the ranking. Coming in third place among the territories with the highest circulation.
ASL 3 monitoring, updated daily based on the results of the swabs, it is not a mere statistical tool, but it has a fundamental function for the management of the epidemic. These figures, in fact, are the starting point of any containment measure, which however, obviously, also takes into account a number of other factors. If the Region and the Municipality intervened mainly in the historic center -a little as it had happened in La Spezia- it is due to a scenario that physiologically tends to favor contact between people and the circulation of the virus: small and densely populated buildings and Narrow streets are more than fertile ground for the transmission of infection.
