The BMW Motorrad E-Scooter Concept from Carota Design looks futuristic as its design is inspired by the Concept Link

Seeing Carota Design’s electric scooter concept will make you wonder why BMW Motorrad hasn’t thought about making it anymore because it’s so good. The German manufacturer recently stopped the C Evolution zero emission scooter as only C 650 GT and C 400 X engines with IC engine are offered.

The BMW Motorrad E-Scooter Concept from Carota Design draws heavily on the latest range of C-series scooters. It should be noted that the styling direction is also influenced by the Concept Link introduced three years ago. The main difference has to be the sleeker front end of the Carota K04-55, keeping the futuristic appeal.

It has a long wheelbase with the rear wheel stretched far back and remains exposed as the tail section rises to the end. Its peculiar Z-shaped design when viewed from the sides allows more space for the driver’s legs and perhaps also for some everyday luggage. Under the seat, the battery and electric motor are mounted, but storage under the seat may be limited, except for some accessory brackets, if provided.

You get the feeling that even mounting a top box or suitcase is difficult with this sleek design. BMW Motorrad presented the Concept Link at the 2017 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and is said to combine the challenges of tomorrow’s urban mobility with the opportunities of a digitized world.

The company believed that connecting the pilot, the vehicle and the environment enables a completely new driving experience with the “reduced style” design studio according to the brand’s Chief Design Officer. The Concept Link didn’t offer good storage space either, but the C 650 GT and C 400 X are more practical with lots of space.

Providing ample space is one of the main reasons for people to buy these maxi scooters. The Concept Link may not go into production, but a more conventional scooter with an electric motor inspired by the concept cannot be ruled out in the future.
