Starting Monday, March 22, Molise and Sardinia will move to the orange zone. This was announced by the Ministry of Health in a note, cited by Adnkronos. Weekly monitoring of the ministry’s data found that “in the period from February 24 to March 9, 2021, R.t the average calculated on symptomatic cases was 1.16 ”, referring to the basic reproduction number, which expresses the number of individuals that are infected by one person on average. “A worsening in the general level of risk is confirmed for the seventh consecutive week,” the ministry wrote.

Molise and Sardinia will be the only two regions to change color from Monday. In these two weeks Molise had been in the red zone, while Sardinia was the only region in Italy to be in the white zone. The Campania red zone ordinance was set to expire on Sunday, but was extended by the ministry.
