The provision also provides for the closure of schools

PALERMO – The President of the Region, Nello Musumeci, signed the order establishing four new “red zones” in Sicily. These are the municipalities of Ribera (Agrigento), Serradifalco (Caltanissetta), Trabia, in the Palermo area, and Santa Maria di Licodia, in the province of Catania. The ordinance will take effect on Thursday, March 25, and will be valid until April 6, inclusive. The provision, which also provides for the closure of schools, was requested by the mayors of the four cities and was necessary due to a sudden increase in infections registered in recent days, certified by the respective Asps, says the Sicilian Region.

These municipalities are added in Caltanissetta, Palma di Montechiaro (Ag), Caltavuturo, in the province of Palermo, and Scicli, in the province of Ragusa, which were declared a red zone until March 30. Until March 27, the municipalities of Altavilla Milicia and San Mauro Castelverde, in the Palermo area, are also a red zone; Montedoro, in the province of Caltanissetta; Portopaolo di Capo Passero, in the Syracusano area; Raffadali in the province of Agrigento.
