New attack by the President of the Lombardy region, Attilio Fontana, against Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte regarding the decision to ban travel on Christmas, Saint Stephen and New Year’s Eve.

At the end of the meeting with the government, the number one from Pirellone explained the position of the Conference of the Regions: “We have expressed disappointment at the approval of the decree issued overnight, which basically prevents us from entering the fund of a substantial part of the dpcm, having become law with immediate effect. That for us is a choice that generates difficult situations for many citizens, who find it impossible to go with relatives, meet grandparents or elderly parents. Create a different way of behaving between big cities and small municipalities. There are situations of relatives divided by a border line and perhaps they are 500 meters away. A situation that we would have liked to reassess: we could not, President Conte said that he will evaluate the approval of the FAQ that give an interpretation but there is only the risk of more confusion. Thus, we have proposed to create a privileged path, perhaps through amendments in order to modify the decree law so that it is substantially eliminated and the unjustified limitation of the lives of our citizens. He took note of the request, we will see to ask the parliamentary groups to move in that direction ”.

At the dpcm, however, Fontana was optimistic in view of a deal: “All the technical issues, however, that are not of much importance.”

On the possibility of a demotion of Lombardy to the yellow zone before Christmas: “It should be automatic. If the figures continue to be those of the last days, we should move to the yellow zone on December 11, once the two weeks of stabilization have passed. Automatic change that must be specified by order of the Minister of Health, as it went from red to orange ”.
