Flu, failed race for 1.5 million vaccines The only offer in Lombardy is not valid

One and a half million flu vaccines that should have reached Lombardy will not arrive because the last tender announced by the Region was not awarded. This is what emerges from a document by Aria, the regional innovation purchasing company. In the Sept. 30 document, Aria writes that “the single offer received was deemed inappropriate compared to specification requirements, did not provide for a single bid price, and provided for supplies deliveries after Nov. 21, 2020 established as the maximum delivery time “. , therefore, in times not compatible with the anti-flu campaign whose departure, according to the Ministry of Health, should have been anticipated in early October. The only participating company was rejected, the Chinese LifèOn, which offers vaccines at a price of 22 million 687 thousand euros, 7.6 million more than the contest, and which could not deliver doses before 80-90 days.

The contest that had just been skipped was launched on September 7 with the request for 1.5 million doses at the price of 10 euros each, double what the Region offered in previous races, and it was rectified four days later by admitting the advance of 15 million.. This is the ninth contest called by Aria since March due to the flu: three have not been awarded, one has been suspended and another has been deserted. With the four successful results, Lombardy managed to obtain 1 million and 868 thousand vaccines for adults and 430 thousand pediatricians, but only 2.2 million people over 60 should be vaccinated. Already at the end of July, the Lombard Pd had raised the problem of the failure of the races, with the consequent risk of delays and increased costs. In addition, for two days there has been a confrontation between the Region and the Municipality of Milan for vaccines against influenza.
