Father kills his two sons aged 15 and 13 and stabs himself to death, a tragedy in the Padua area

TREBASELEGHE. Horror in Sant’Ambrogio di Trebaseleghe. A man stabbed to death his 13- and 15-year-old sons and then killed himself with a knife. It happened in via Sant’Ambrogio, where the carabinieri, the 118 health workers and the mayor intervened.

Initially, a rumor had spread in the village that the father had abducted the children, but it was not clear why. Instead, the man killed them and then took his own life. Now he is trying to understand what could have prompted him to such action.

The police are collecting everything inside the house where the tragedy occurred.

The father was named Alessandro Pontin, 49 years old, the deceased children are Francesca, 15 years old and Pietro 13.
