The investigations found that, in an effort to speed up the procedures to obtain citizenship in Suárez, Paratici asked a minister for help, the owner of Infrastructure and Transportation Paola De Micheli.
De Micheli, who has already been questioned and who was a childhood friend of Paratici, admitted that she had provided the manager with the contact of Bruno Frattasi, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of the Interior.
De Micheli, in a note, explained that, having no knowledge of the specific procedure to obtain an Italian passport for a foreign citizen, I called the chief of staff of the Ministry of the Interior, Bruno Frattasi, to anticipate that he would be contacted by a coach of the Juve that he needed to have the necessary information to complete Suárez’s application for recognition of Italian citizenship. Paratici was interrogated on November 11, 2020; Attorney Chiappero was heard on September 23, 2020.
Both are now under investigation for false statements at the prosecution.
Suárez could not join Juventus: he went to Barcelona and now he plays for Atlético de Madrid.
The investigation led today, December 4, to the suspension of the activity for 8 months of the rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Giuliana Grego, of the director Simone Olivieri and of the professors who examined the player.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the content of Suárez’s exam had previously been communicated to the player himself, predetermining the result and score of the exam, to correspond to the requests that Juventus had made, with the aim of achieving a positive image return, both personally and for the University.
