Precarious school workers are entrusted to the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
The initiative to send thousands of letters to the President of the Republic, addressing a heartfelt request for help to invite the political forces to promptly postpone the tests of the extraordinary competition came from the precarious group in La Spezia but was immediately extended to the entire coordination national. .
The letter says the following
“I am a precarious teacher, I have been teaching in public schools for more than 3 years, I have always been faithful to the duties imposed on me by the role that I perform, I have worked many times in various schools with times that are not always ideal and in institutions that are even many miles apart but not. I have never failed in my commitments to the boys.
I am finally given the opportunity, through extraordinary competence, to become a permanent teacher. Nobody but me tried to make this expectation come true, but at this moment I am sure that the health of my family, my colleagues and my children is above my personal interests.
In recent months we have tried to open a dialogue with our colleagues because we do not consider appropriate the ways in which we were asked to carry out competition tests. We hope that there will be an opportunity to discuss concretely how to stabilize precarious teachers. At this time we put aside claims and think about contributing to the reduction of infections.
As of yesterday, October 22 and in the next few days, more than 60,000 precarious teachers will be summoned to the oppositions several kilometers from where they live and work; Although the safety of exam sites can be guaranteed, the risk of travel-related contagion remains very high. Many of us the day after the test will have to go back to class to do our work and the risks involved will be shared with all students and colleagues.
We are writing to you to invite the political forces to promptly postpone proficiency tests to periods when the epidemiological situation is back under control.
We trust you President ”.
We will see if the authority and recognized sensitivity of President Mattarella make Minister Azzolina retrace his steps.
