To a company of Seriate, having numerous automatic machines for the sale of food and beverages in the area, a fine of 10,000 euros was imposed during a control carried out by Union of local police together in El Serio. During the investigation, it was learned that within the distributors food was offered for sale beyond the expiration date. Subjected to administrative seizure, they were removed from the vending machine and the company fined.
“Although it does not constitute a health hazard (as required by law), the sale of food after the expiration date is still an event that should not happen – explains the local police -. In the next few days we will begin a series of controls in commercial establishments to verify that the goods offered for sale comply with the guidelines of the Ministry. The sanctions are very severe and if there is a deterioration of the product or a bad conservation, the operators risk in addition to the administrative sanction also to a criminal complaint ”.
