ROME – Round of 16 matches finished, tomorrow at 1 pm the qualifying matches for the quarterfinals of the Europa League will know the pairings and their respective opponents. The games will be played return trip on April 8 and 15. For the rooms there will be a free draw and the various pairings will be numbered from 1 to 4 for the semi-final draw to follow. An additional draw will be held to determine the ‘home’ team for the final, but only for bureaucratic reasons. There are no seeds or geographic protections. Any restriction will be communicated before the draw.
The teams qualified for the quarterfinals of the Europa League
The real surprise of the round of 16 is that of Dinamo Zagreb, who managed to come back from the first leg by beating Tottenham 3-0 and qualifying for the quarter-finals. Rome also walked in Kiev: After the 3-0 first leg, Fonseca’s team beat Shakhtar 2-1. Instead, Milan were left out, defeated 1-0 at San Siro by Manchester United by Pogba’s goal. Ajax, Slavia Prague, Granada, Arsenal and Villarreal also pass the lap. Rome is the only Italian still competing in a European competition.
