ER ‘orange’ but more severe measures with the Region – Emilia-Romagna ordinance

Bars and restaurants close and more shops close on Sundays

Emilia-Romagna on Sunday is stained “orange” -in the classification of the Ministry of Health with restrictive measures to stop coronavirus infections- but of a more intense tone than the rest of the regions due to the regional order signed yesterday by the governor Stefano Bonaccini will not disappear completely: the most severe measures will continue to be applied than those provided for by the orange band.

In addition to the changes imposed so far by the Dpcm and the “yellow” zone, for the Emilia-Romagna region, starting on Sunday, based on the “orange” provisions of the Ministry of Health, the stop to travel within and outside with other regions, from one municipality to another (unless there are proven reasons that justify self-certification). Also in the municipality itself there is a recommendation to avoid unnecessary travel during the day. Another important change, which was not contemplated by the regional ordinance, was the closure of bars and restaurants 7 days a week, with take-out allowed until 10 at night and deliveries always possible.

From the regional ordinance signed yesterday by Bonaccini – which comes into force on Saturday, November 14 – the main measure that remains is to close shops on Sundays, except for pharmacies, parapharmacies, food, tobacconists, kiosks. The same occurs with the stop of the open-air markets without ad hoc plans on the part of the City Councils (Bologna has prohibited them without exceptions, for example) and the days before the holidays in medium and large sales areas as well as in the malls. In grocery stores only one component per family.

Another additional measure not foreseen by the orange zone but effective as of next week due to the regional ordinance, the suspension of gymnastics, singing and wind instruments classes in elementary and secondary schools. Sports activities should avoid historic centers and places that are usually crowded.
