Emilia Romagna at risk of red zone Closing of gatherings

Bonaccini, together with his colleagues Zaia and Fedriga, aims to anticipate the government and avoid degradation: today the ordinance

MODENA The objective is to stop the gatherings that all the cities have in common during the weekend – at least those that are still in the “yellow” Regions – but also to reach out to the government, which has not yet abandoned the idea of hardening the Regions at risk of deterioration, starting with Emilia Romagna. Therefore, last night the president of the Region Stefano bonaccini listened companions Luca zaia (Veneto) and Massimiliano Fedriga (Friuli), whose territories are more or less in the same situation as Emilia Romagna: they are still in the “yellow band”, but run the risk of being degraded every day in light of a worrying epidemiological curve.

It is the epilogue of an eventful day from the point of view of the new measures to combat the Coronavirus epidemic. And just to try to reverse the contagion trend, yesterday morning Bonaccini heard from Zaia and Fedriga with the aim of agreeing on a squeeze to avoid the gatherings. A testament that yesterday afternoon the governor -and president of the Conference of the Regions- illustrated in videoconference to the mayors of the provincial capitals and the presidents of the provinces. “We are considering taking new measures to avoid the meetings that continue to be seen in cities and beyond – wrote Bonaccini on Instagram – just think about the last weekend. For this reason, I also listened to Presidents Zaia and Fedriga, whose Regions are in the yellow band like Emilia Romagna, and Minister Speranza, to arrive at the regional ordinances as agreed as possible. Everyone’s goal is to stop the infection and reverse the pandemic curve.

An ordinance that will arrive today, and that will aim to identify a series of anti-collection measures in coordination with the Prefectures, and that will be applied during the weekend, even if the provision is likely to be valid for the whole week. “We must be very careful to avoid the possibility of contagion – confirmed last night the governor of Friuli Massimiliano Fedriga – for that reason, with Bonaccini and Zaia we are hypothesizing and studying measures to minimize the possibility of gatherings, trying not to touch the activities”. economic, already seriously affected by the pandemic and by the restrictive measures already in place.

The other objective of the governors is to get ahead of the government, which has not yet abandoned the idea of demoting Emilia, Friuli, Veneto and Campania into the orange band, the intermediate risk band, which would nevertheless imply the closure of bars and restaurants and the Prohibition of moving to other municipalities, except for work and health reasons.

A wish leaked yesterday afternoon, when, after analyzing regional reports, the president of the Higher Institute of Health Silvio Brusaferro has indicated that “based on the latest monitoring, there are four regions that are heading towards a high risk and in which it is convenient to anticipate the most restrictive measures”. Regions in which, according to the document prepared by the ISS and the control room authorized by the government, are in scenario 4 (the worst of the hypothesized), with a moderate risk, but “with a high probability of progression to high risk”.

Words that yesterday made us think of an immediate shutdown by the government, which later denied the will to degrade the four regions, although the Minister Speranza took a few days to assess the situation. Precisely for this reason, the governors intend to play in advance, studying a common ordinance so as not to go from the yellow band to the orange, or even the red one, something that should not be excluded especially for Campania. The idea is to autonomously introduce more restrictive measures in the three regions than those already in force: restrictions that could therefore affect mobility, but which will affect concentrations above all. –
