A temporary earthquake of magnitude 6 occurred in Croatia and was felt in Italy, along the Adriatic coast, from Trieste to Abruzzo, according to the first estimates of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv). The epicenter was located around Petrinja, about thirty miles south of Zagreb, a region already hit yesterday by earthquakes. Regional media speak of severe damage to Petrinja, with collapsed buildings, power outages and telephone lines. The earthquake was felt throughout Croatia, but also in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Petrinja center would have been completely destroyed by the earthquake. As local media report, for now there is a victim, a minor.

The strong earthquake was clearly felt across much of northeastern Italy, up to Ravenna, Bolzano, and northern Naples. Fear in some districts of the capital of Campania, where on the upper floors of houses in mountainous areas, chandeliers have long swayed. In Veneto there are several reports received by the Fire Brigade that at the moment, however, do not register damage to property or structures.
