Francesca Bianco, director of the Vesuvian Observatory of INGV, commented on the seismic event: “The volcanic activity of the Campi Flegrei is constantly monitored by the monitoring networks of the Vesuvian Observatory, according to the Department of Civil Protection. The geophysical and geochemical parameters analyzed indicate the persistence of the trends recorded in the previous months. At present, no elements are highlighted that suggest significant short-term evolutions of the system, understanding that any variation in the monitored parameters (seismological, geochemical and soil deformations) can lead to a different evolution of the threat scenarios “.
