the New York Times revealed that the president of the United States, Donald Trump, has a checking account in China, the existence of which had never emerged. For years, Trump has been highly critical of the Chinese government’s economic and financial decisions, against which his administration has launched a “trade war.”

According to New York Times The checking account is managed by Trump International Hotels Management, the company that manages Trump’s hotels around the world, which between 2013 and 2015 would have paid $ 188,561 in taxes in China (approximately 159 thousand euro).

A lawyer for Trump told al New York Times that the checking account was opened after the company was considering possible real estate deals in Asia to build hotels, adding that these deals never materialized and that although the account is still active, it has never been used for any other purpose.

The revelations of New York Times come after the publication of a Large investigation into Trump’s tax returns, which showed that in 10 of the last 15 years the president had not paid any income taxes, thanks mainly to losses reported on tax returns by his company, the Trump Organization.
