BRINDIS – After a month of agony, the 52-year-old RA, the man assaulted with acid on the afternoon of August 3 by his wife, died today (Tuesday, September 8) at the Perrino hospital in Brindisi. via Pace Brindisina, in the Commenda district. RA was hospitalized in a medically induced coma in Major Burns ward, with burns to 80 percent of his body. His fate, sadly, was sealed. His wife, CL, 53, had been immediately arrested. The crime that was initially charged with, attempted murder, will be retrained. The prosecutor had ordered the psychiatric evaluation of the woman, transferred under arrest to a center for people with mental problems.

The attack took place around 7:05 p.m., on the street, in front of dozens of people. CL poured the contents of a barrel of acid draining agent acquired in the previous days on her husband, while the victim was in the seat of the driver’s side of the Fiat 500 with which the couple had gone to the place to make the purchase. RA took refuge, in excruciating pain, inside a home goods store, where he called for help, accusing his wife of the attack. Meanwhile, an off-duty inspector from Brindisi Digos blocked his wife there. The investigations were carried out by the Brindisi mobile brigade police officers under the command of Deputy Commissioner Rita Sverdigliozzi, in synergy with the Brindisi court prosecutor, Francesco Carluccio.

The victim worked in the security sector of a company based in the province of Bari, the couple had two adult children.
