On August 17 he was in Tunisia. The reason for the visit to Libya is the delicate situation on the ground and the recent Sarraj-Saleh ceasefire agreement. Di Maio will be accompanied today by Undersecretary Di Stefano, delegated by the minister to work on the establishment of a joint Italian-Libyan commission for economic affairs.

Di Maio’s plan includes the resumption of the old agreements signed by Silvio Berlusconi, with the aim of giving new impetus to Italian investments in Libya and offering new growth opportunities to our companies and the Libyan people.
