Faced with a weak 5-star candidate, Antonella Laricchia, Travaglio asks voters M5S “hold your nose” and vote separately: put the cross on the list, but elect the governor, Michele Emiliano. Di Battista’s response in Bari is not very diplomatic: ‘Close your nose? What is the voting booth, a public toilet? ».
It seemed around, but Labor does not appreciate. And yesterday he published an editorial in which he said that Di Battista “puts sadness” and remembers “Comrade Antonio, the communist from Leftovers who, in 1993, woke up from a coma and found nothing of his little old world, except the Poohs. But it is at the level of identity that criticism becomes most interesting. Because, writes Travaglio, Di Battista excommunicates alliances “that destroy projects”, “forgetting that the results obtained by the M5S are due to alliances”.
The “least worst”
Little remains of the ideological paraphernalia of the past. But since then, Travaglio explains, everything has changed, “even the Democratic Party.” They cannot, he says, equate to Emiliano-Fitto. And “without alliances and commitments” the Movement “would continue in the streets shouting, without achieving anything.” Those who continue in this logic, he explains, “condemn the Movement to irrelevance. And he works for Salvini and / or Draghi. Perhaps without his knowledge, which is even worse.
Di Battista’s response is exemplary for its consistency. He reiterates that for him Fitto and Emiliano Pari are “both champions of clientelist politics.” He makes a long list of center-right characters, “unpresentable”, chosen by Emiliano. He explains that the current governor has also ended “in an investigation into the appointments in the health of Apulia.” And then he reiterates his no to the choice of the “least worst”: “If the M5S had reasoned with this logic, the government would never have arrived and today Conte would continue to be a lawyer. If tomorrow Emiliano, Fitto, Giani, Tizio, Caio, Sempronio lose the elections, it will be their fault and their failures.
Collaboration in the event
The end is bittersweet. Because with Travaglio there is a long association.
