Ravenna, December 24, 2020 – Theex nurse 48 years of Ausl Romagna Daniela poggiali she was arrested for “danger of the crime being repeated“in light of the recent sentenced to 30 years in prison inflicted by the death of a patient in the Lugo hospital, the 94-year-old man Massimo Montanari.
The events date back to March 12, 2014, the day the man was informed that the next day he would be discharged, since the lung infection for which he was hospitalized had receded. Instead, around 11 p.m. he died suddenly. According to investigators, the murder weapon is the same one with which Poggiali killed the 78-year-old man. Rosa Calderoni, who died on April 8, 2014 a few hours after being admitted to the Lugo hospital: an injection of potassium chloride.
The precautionary prison measure, requested by the Prosecutor’s Office, was dictated by Gup himself Barlotti Janos who pronounced the sentence at the end of the abbreviated procedure. The woman, after the formalities, will be accompanied to prison of Forlì.
For Poggiali, the sentenced to a sentence on December 15 represents just one of the many processes opened as a result of the investigations into her work at the Lugo hospital, in the Ravenna area.
First life sentence for the death of one of his patients, annulled in two successive appeals unauthorized by so many Cassations, so much so that now we are awaiting an appeal.
