A boat carrying dozens of migrants on board exploded in the maritime area off Praialonga, in the province of Crotone, while transshipment operations of naval units of the Port Authority were carried out off the coast of Crotone. Subsequently, an explosion occurred on the ship, allegedly caused by the fuel on board.
Six migrants are missing and two financiers, who were assisting the ship, were injured: Ansa learns from rescuers sources, according to which the two GDF soldiers were already entrusted to the care of 118: one would have a broken leg and the other would be burned.
In the place are the naval units of the Crotone Port Authority and the Finance Police that are recovering the people who ended up at sea. It is not known at the moment if there are victims, an eventuality that is considered possible. There is also a Coast Guard aircraft on site for rescue operations.
