Covid, the fear of the new wave grows: this is what Sicilians think

Coronavirus cases increase and with them too Sicilian fears linked to the new wave, not only health, but also social and economic. This is what emerges from the survey carried out by the Demopolis Institute, directed by Pietro Vento, from November 12 to 15 for the Giornale di Sicilia, with the cawi methodology on a sample of 2,940 adult citizens residing in Sicily, readers of GdS .Item.

After a sharp drop in the summer season, from 63% in May to 42% in early September, Concern for Covid on the island now reaches 85%, not far from the April data.

The Institute directed by Pietro Vento also analyzed the opinion of citizens on the main measures of the DPCM implemented for about 10 days throughout the national territory: 9 out of 10 respondents appreciated the reduction to 50% of capacity in the means of transport the closure of betting shops and video game points. 88% share the ban on travel to and from regions at risk; slightly lower, but the ban on driving between 10 pm and 5 am was also positively evaluated at 75%. More perplexities, in the survey of the Demopolis Institute, arise instead in the division of the country in risk areas between red, orange and yellow zones.

In general, 23% consider that the government measures are adequate; 19%, on the other hand, consider them useless and inappropriate. 58%, the vast majority of Sicilians interviewed by Demopolis, argue that the current measures are too timid and sectoral to be able to really stop the virus, in the belief that only clear and uniform national elections can contain a further spread of Covid.
