In Italian hospitals the alarm sounds emergency room. Criticalities recorded in all Regions: garrisons stormed, lines of ambulances waiting. Patients with Covid symptoms also wait several days. This was underlined by front-line doctors through the mouth of the president of the Italian Society of Emergency-Emergency Medicine (Simeu) Salvatore Manca.
“The situation in the emergency room (Ps) is dramatic – he says – with very strong criticism in all regions. The Ps, these days, are besieged by patients with symptoms of Covid-19 and there are lines of ambulances waiting ”. The Covid departments, he says, “are full and the PS is becoming a ‘parking lot’ for these patients even for 3-5 days. We are all helping, but doctors and nurses are lacking. We can’t take it anymore.

IN TUSCANY Stop visiting relatives or people close to those hospitalized in Tuscan hospitals. “Hospitals must be preserved”, so “only for people of special weakness and fragility can visit for a few minutes and with a brief contact,” announced Eugenio Giani, president of the Tuscany Region, illustrating the content of the new regional ordinance on the Covid emergency during a live Facebook. “We cannot risk the virus being transmitted in hospitals,” he added.
