Bologna, September 4, 2020 – Only two positive swabs in more 25 thousand serological tests already carried out, in Emilia-Romagna, at School staff.
It is the first significant figure to emerge from the voluntary screening campaign that the Region wants to guarantee school restart, but also nests and nurseries, with the maximum possible security. From Piacenza to Rimini, there are exactly 25,345 tests they wanted to undergo school directors, tenured teachers me substitutes, educators, assistants and administrative staff of schools, including infants, and educational services from 0 to 3 years: in 97% of cases (absolute number 24,609) were negative. The 736 people who tested positive, equivalent to a percentage of 2.9%, were immediately subjected to a verification swab, which revealed positivity, in fact, in two cases (Reggio emilia me Bologna).

The campaign, organized by Ausl and coordinated by the Region with the decisive collaboration of general practitioners and the Regional Office of the School, began on August 24 and offers all education workers the possibility of carrying out, on a voluntary and totally free basis, a serological test to identify people who have come into contact with the virus and have developed antibodies, even in the absence of symptoms. These tests will then be repeated periodically throughout the school year.
Among school directors, regular and substitute teachers, educators, assistants and administrative personnel of schools of all levels, including children, and of educational services 0-3 – both public and private – almost 97 thousand units (96,539) selection of Target personnel, to which will be added approximately 5,000 authorized support positions and the extra staff that the Ministry of Education will assign to educational institutions due to the health emergency linked to Covid-19.
