CORTINA D’AMPEZZO (BELLUNO) – After the event of the Summer Party, with the maxi-projection of 500 guests for a positive and calm alarm Coronavirus a Curtain: this time there is a real Covid-19 outbreak. It is in a hotel in central Alaska, where half of the operators (about 10 people) tested positive. When the Prevention Department of Usl 1 in Belluno, late Thursday night, had the results, they immediately activated an extraordinary tampon session for all the guests of the structure. Practically, the Usl staff moved to the place, in Cortina, with a mobile unit to rub the tourists who spend their vacations in that Largo Poste hotel. They are about twenty people. All the guests were placed in self-control, unable to move until the test result came in late at night: all negative. The hotel is still in the end-of-season phase: it is operational with the reception staff, but it is not accepting new guests (obviously for security reasons) and will close on Sunday, to reopen this winter. Repeatedly contacted by phone last night, the facility manager declined to comment.
FIREPLACE
It all started a few days ago when an Alaskan kitchen worker had symptoms of the virus and had a swab taken in a private laboratory. His suspicions were well founded: the result, which arrived on September 8, was positive. From that moment on, the Local Health Authority 1 Dolomiti began to analyze all the chef’s close contacts, or in any case significant contacts in the professional and extra-professional sphere: they were quarantined and subjected to hyssop. For 8 employees, success had arrived. The Prevention Department of USL 1 Dolomiti had already detected another case involving an operator who had meanwhile returned to his hometown outside the region. In total, there are 10 positive employees of the Covid hotel.

CONFIDENTIALITY
The mayor of Cortina, Gianpietro Ghedina, explained that “the mini outbreak was managed promptly with all the necessary protocols and the rapid intervention of the Uls”. The sanitary operation with tampons that was carried out in the hotel was carried out with the utmost caution, since it is a central area. The operators entered the facility, but it was impossible for those personnel dressed in white overalls to go unnoticed. So the rumor spread in a short time and yesterday many were talking about it. The fear of all is that news of this type could damage the season at the end. But just look at the numbers: the 10 employees add up to another 5 positive cases that were previously in Cortina (not connected to the hotel). Fifteen cases in a tourist center that traveled with an average of 40-60 thousand visitors a day during the entire month of August are nothing. A sign that everything has been done in accordance with Covid regulations. Suffice it to say that at the support point of the town, the point of contact with the largest public, the historic Cortina Cooperative, there have been no cases of infections between operators throughout the season. Belluno’s Usl 1 explained that “epidemiological research has correlated these positivities” with a probable index case registered two days ago. It was also reported that “the usual contact tracing has been implemented, which will be modulated based on the results of the swabs performed.”
