With 16,493 smears performed, 269 (thus 1.6%) new positive cases of coronavirus registered in Lombardy on Saturday, September 12, of these 37 “weakly positive” and 15 after serological tests. The number of patients in intensive care remains unchanged (27) while that of hospitalized in other departments (+5) amounts to 251 and no deaths are registered. Therefore, the number of deaths remains at 16,896.

Regarding the provinces, 102 cases occurred in Milan (61 of which in the city), 32 in Monza, 24 each in Brescia and Bergamo12 in Como, 11 in Lecco and Mantua, 7 in Pavia, 6 in Cremona, 3 in Lodi and none in Sondrio.

We remind you that the increase in positive cases, in Lombardy as in other regions, must always be related to the number of swabs performed. Never forgetting that, if we think in terms of absolute comparisons, the number of inhabitants of Lombardy is equivalent to one sixth of the national population.

Coronavirus infections in Italy decrease slightly: In the last 24 hours, according to data from the Civil Protection website, 1,501 new cases were registered, while yesterday 1,616 new cases were registered. The total number of infected people, including victims and those cured, is 286,297. The number of victims decreased today, 6 compared to 10 yesterday, for a total of 35,603 deaths since the start of the pandemic. Those healed and discharged add up to 213,191, 759 more than yesterday. More than 92 thousand swabs made. Intensive care patients increased from 7 to 182. There are now 1,951 hospitalized patients (+102 compared to yesterday), 35,370 people (+627) are in home isolation. The positives currently increase by 736 and are now 37,503.
