“A frank, useful and productive confrontation, carried out in a constructive and positive climate.” Thus, the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, comments on the meeting with the mayors of the provincial capitals (connected remotely) which was also attended by the prefect of Milan, Renato Saccone, and the group leaders of the parties present in the regional council. Then it was agreed with the mayors to reformulate the regulations and hours of bars and restaurants, also prohibiting consumption on public land. The Region’s provision also provides for the closure of gaming halls, betting rooms and bingo halls.
All the parties present at the meeting shared the urgent need to transmit a strong and clear message to the government about the convenience of activating a school model that includes alternate distance lessons and staggering the time of entry to the school, in order to remove pressure . to the local public transportation system. A similar proposal concerns universities for which distance education is requested, with the exception of freshmen and apprentices. The government will also be asked to increase the proportion of smartworking for all activities where it is feasible. “We will ask the government – Fontana concluded – to provide decisive and significant compensatory resources for those economic activities that will inevitably suffer repercussions due to the results of this decision shared by all those who sit at the table today.”
