(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 09 – Coronavirus infections continue to grow in Italy. In the last 24 hours the positives have increased by 5,372 (yesterday they were 4,458), with 28 deaths (yesterday 22). This is learned from the data of the Ministry of Health. The swabs were 129,471, a new record. The total number of cases is now 343,770 and the victims 36,111. The new daily infections identified in Lombardy are 983, with a jump that takes the region to surpass Campania that registers 769. In Veneto there are 595 positives in the last 24 hours, 483 in Tuscany.
Among the regions with the most positive identified in the last 24 hours followed by Piedmont with 401 and Lazio with 387. Emilia Romagna has 276, Puglia 249, Sicily 233. The smallest regions register significant increases in new infections, such as «Umbria (+ 151), Friuli Venezia Giulia (+146) and Abruzzo (+103). ICU patients due to coronavirus have increased by another 29 units in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 387. In contrast, the number of hospitalized in ordinary wards has increased by 161 units, reaching 4,086. The positives have currently passed the threshold of 70,000: now they are 70,110, with an increase of 4,158 in one day, while the most cured are only 1,186 for a total of 237,549. The positives in home isolation have also increased by almost 4,000 to 65,637. (HANDLE).
